I have been operating as a self employed consultant for the past sixteen years.
Prior to this I was a Director of a logistics company with offices in Scandinavia, USA and the Far East.
I am just completing a relocation project for the Raybestos Company of Crawfordsville, USA. Which involved heavy plant movements to China, Germany and the USA and more recently the shutdown and decommissioning of their two clutch manufacturing factories in the UK.
During the last sixteen years I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to set up a UK warehouse/distribution chain for a major Danish manufacturing group.
The turnkey relocation of an entire clutch factory from Germany to the UK, which involved extensive re-engineering against very tight time schedules.
Designing and implementing operating procedures to comply with BS EN ISO9000 standard for a large UK toy manufacturer/importer.
Designing and fitting out a distribution warehouse to meet automotive industry logistics requirements for a major UK automotive supplier.
Been a member of the planning team for the relocation of a major US drinks machine manufacturer from Minneapolis to Mexico and for the same group of companies an aluminum casting facility from San Antonio to China and Mexico.
I have also arranged the relocation of a UK rubber glove factory from the UK to Mexico and numerous heavy plant movements within the UK and abroad, including a couple of tricky plant movements to Iran.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and a Member of the Institute of Freight Professionals. I am 62 years of age, but don't worry I play squash every week and run for fun.
I usually take work on a charge per day basis. My fees are negotiable, but I normally charge £350 per day for UK based work and £450 for working abroad.
